Cette présente étude a pour objectif d’étudier l’orientation des structures funéraires dolméniques et mégalithiques en Tunisie et de réfléchir sur leur signification. Trois questions se posent à ce sujet. La première question traite le sujet de la position topographique : à quoi correspondent les différences d’orientation au sein d’une même nécropole et sont elles uniquement commandées par la topographie? La seconde question expose l’éventualité d’un rite solaire et les données relatives au rite funéraire adopté par les constructeurs de ces sépultures. La troisième question est une lecture hypothétique sur la chronologie et la saison de l’édification des sépultures funéraires. Néanmoins, les données disponibles ne permettent pas d’approfondir la problématique de l’orientation des sépultures dolméniques et mégalithiques en Tunisie.

The aim of this paper is to study the funeral structure orientation and archaeological ignificance of dolmenic and megalithic sepulchers in Tunisia. Three questions are evoked through the study. The first question deals with the topographic position to assess differences of orientation within the same necropolis and whether they are determinate by topography. The second question states the contingency of solar ritual and data relating to funeral rituals adopted by their builders. The third question is related to the chronology and the hypothetical construction season of such funeral monuments. Nevertheless, the available data do not allow us to get a deeper knowledge on the orientation of dolmenic and megalithic sepulchers in Tunisia.
