The 2018 excavation campaign has enabled the reconstruction of the most singular defensive element at Giribaile. Its height has been calculated at minimum of 8 m, comprising stone drawers at the base, with a wall of earth strengthened with lime and an adobe structure above. The modular drawers joined at variable angles are a new design for the defensive systems of the Iberian culture. These provide new arguments for the debate about possible cultural interaction in the political territory of Castulo, implicit in the foundation of the city around the middle of the 4th century BC.
