This paper aims to illustrate, through a methodological proposal, how religion of the northwest Iberian Peninsula, around the change of Era context, cannot be summarized into static categories as indigenous or romanized. Using concepts as middle-ground and theories such as identity and memory, it will be shown that these are complex processes of reformulation of social relationships. Hence, religion will be established as a privileged frame of negotiation through which these communities will be able to explain their changing needs and legitimized their new way of being in the Galician-Roman world.
